No. That is the point of it. Mail to your domain arrives in BusinessOS directly, so there is no outside mailbox to pay for, sign in to or keep in step. You can still connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 instead if you would rather, and some people run both.
Register a new one through BusinessOS. Search for the name you want, we show the price of each available name, and you choose. We register it and set it up for you.

You point its two nameservers at us, at whoever you bought the domain from. That moves the whole domain’s DNS to us, not only its mail, because mail only works if we answer for the whole domain. So if your website lives on that domain, it has to move here or be recreated first, or it will stop resolving. Talk to us before you change anything. The change itself can take up to 48 hours and we finish the rest without you coming back.

No. An address on your own domain is mail only. For calendar, connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 as well, and BusinessOS uses its calendar.
Setup is not finished until a real test message has been sent and arrived. Until that happens the address does not show as receiving and sending, so the status reflects mail genuinely working rather than a configuration that looks right.
